Yarn Tasting & First Ann
Close Knit Sisters celebrated our First Anniversary from Sunday July 31st through Friday August 4th. We had a 10% off sale on all yarn on Sunday the 31st (which was our actual anniversary day), and door prizes every day that week. On Thursday August 4th we had a “Yarn Tasting”
from 5:30-7:00pm. What is a Yarn Tasting, you ask? Well, Marina and Warren Shumway, our representatives from Cascade Yarns brought lots of samples of Cascade’s yarns. They placed each different yarn on a plate and participants were able to pick and choose which yarn they wanted to “taste” (knit, feel, etc) and then move on to another yarn. They had been instructed to bring their needles so they could play with the samples. People discovered some pretty cool yarns that they might otherwise not have ever used. We even had a gentleman participating in the thick of things trying out different sock yarns on his sock-knitting machine! There were refreshments, drinks and lots of fun! We will definitely be holding another “Yarn Tasting” next year for our second anniversary, if not before!
